Demand for Complete Ban on Cow Slaughter!

 The Chaiman,

Manifesto Commitee

BJP, Head Office,

6-A, Deendayal Upadhayaya Marg,

New Delhi-110002.

Respected Shri Rajnath Singh ji,

Namaskar and respectful Greetings!

On behalf of a large number of the bovine community, I express most sincere greetings to you.

You are making very dedicated efforts to augment the prestige, popularity and imperative importance of the party in the forthcoming election by awakening the people of the country in their aspirations and expectations on many issues that deserve prompt actions from the authorities, both at Centre and State levels.

We express our sincere appreciation for your visits to the temples and the religious places of Sanatana Dharma and all faiths and sects that very admirably reflect your religious mind frame.

However, contrary opponents have been making misleading and prejudicial statements.

We recall one video speech of the Respected Modiji regarding the pink revolution of UPA government is enclosed here with for your kind information.

The majority of Hindus are proud of the Ram Mandir construction in Ayodhya, but we are distressed by the conditions of revered cows that are not protected from its merciless conditions and slaughtering.

Consequently, there is a huge and continuous demand from the public to declare “Cows as National Animals”.

Besides, the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act was promulgated in 1960; thereafter, no amendment has been made therein. Even after 64 years of long time, only 50 rupees is the penalty for cruelty and killing of any animals in the current PCA Act 1960.

Sir, despite the direction passed by the Honourable Supreme Court on 7.5.2014 in the case of Animal Welfare Board of India vs. A. Nagaraja and others, the required amendments have not been made, however the amendments Bills were prepared, and laid before the Parliament. But the amendment bill was not passed in houses, don't know why?

Considering the mood, aspirations and expectations of very large number of people, it is expected and will be much appreciated if you will kindly declare that BJP will make dedicated and determined efforts for much awaited and much deserving status and protection of cow as a "National Animal" and the Prevention of the Cruelty to Animals Act will be suitably amended.

We do believe, this will certainly appeal to the masses and will brighten the prospects of the BJP in the forthcoming elections.

I hope and look forward to your positive consideration and action in the above matter as a member of BJP.

With respectful regards,

Sincerely yours,

P. Ravinder Shekar
